How can Google Cloud reshape IT infrastructure—and are discounts worth it?

I’ve been helping our IT team evaluate cloud migration options recently. We’re running most of our apps on local servers, and it’s getting harder to scale when traffic spikes. We looked at Google Cloud because of its flexibility and global availability, but the cost is still a big factor for a medium-sized business like ours. Last week, our finance team suggested checking if there are any discounts or promotional offers before committing to a full plan. I’m curious — do companies actually save enough this way to make it worthwhile, and does switching to a cloud platform really simplify infrastructure management in practice?

We did a similar migration last year, moving our dev and staging environments to Google Cloud, and it honestly made things smoother. Managing resources, scaling servers, and handling backups became much less painful. About pricing, it’s definitely worth checking for available offers first — we found a page detailing a Google Cloud Discount which showed ways to get some cost reductions. For us, even a small percentage off matters when you’re paying for multiple services monthly. It didn’t affect the features or reliability at all, but it made planning the budget for the year much easier and less stressful.
